If this is the case this is a bad deal for the Breeders Crown to reimburse Pocono for the difference. It could be upwards to $500,000 for the reimbursement.
If Pocono was smart they would continue the 15% takeout across the board until the end of the year which would be three weeks, then assess the takeout % for the up and coming season.

I really dont think the Hambo Society is going to pay back whats lost on the 3 nights.........th ey just want it to be fair if their names attached I would hope. I would suspect that the Hambo Society is not flush as far as money is concerned . Where did you read or hear they would cover the difference??

thats what the industry, the owners, the breeders, and the fans ALL want--meaningless speed marks

Pocono provides that false euphoria , that bragging right in some bar, to say my horse went 150--even though that mark is now accomplished by $5k claimers

Everyone stares at the fractions, the final times, the soft middle halves, etc, etc....so thats what the industry provides...that is, fast times that mean nothing

This "time" brain blockage is from the 70s---wooden bikes--back then time was a major factor, as was post position

Modern day pharmaceuticals, super high octane gas trainers, the modern bikes, the intentionally designed surfaces for fast times....all of that has rendered final times basically unimportant--yet still the industry--more importantly--the aging fan base, breeding outfits, sales folks...they are all stuck in the 70s..because they saw the slow times back then and now they see these times of today and they simply fall in love with the clock all over again

this has nothing to do with Pocono   They were ask to go down to 15%  they said no so the breeders made an deal to drop the takeout to 15% and pay Pocono the difference
