Suspicious Payouts
« on: August 01, 2018, 03:35:11 PM »
Here are the results from the 8th Race at Scioto Downs on Tuesday, August 31.  The payout prices noted for exotic wagers are $2 exacta, $2 tri and .10 super.

I realize it is not an exact science, etc., but when the win horse pays $83 (40.5:1) and the place horse pays $21.60 (34.6:1), Doesn't it look suspicious as hell that a $2 exacta only paid $150.20?  It sure seems like someone should look into this.  Maybe some lucky fan bet their dog's birthday several dozen times????

7    K`s Boy    Kayne Kauffman   83.00    21.60    9.80
9    Elijah`s Jack    Josh Sutton               21.20    21.60
8    Mcfehr    Jason Brewer                                   25.20

 Wager Type    Numbers/Payouts   Pool

 Exacta    (7-9 $150.20)
 Trifecta    (7-9-8 $6,895.00)
 Superfecta    (7-9-8-2 $792.95)

By the way, the show horse went off at 115.9:1 and the 1/9 horse finished fourth.

The #7 and #9 both blasted the gate...and the b1/9 fave was a laggard

its obvious what happened here--this was observed and bet after the bell by the Lexington sharp shooters

Oh, I get it.........like a Dave Weaver "Ice Cold exacta"

not a terrible way to wager--very gutsy-- very risky as well

not for the faint hearted

anyway--if you look at the chart of this race--its pretty blatant

these odd payouts happen when theres only 3k bet in the exacta pool (i looked at today, not the date in question, but all the pools were rancid today)..someone with a $5 exacta kills the pool.
