Pocono Saturday June 30 ... Beal, Lynch, Hempt, Franklin
« on: June 27, 2018, 04:05:45 PM »
Forecast for Saturday is 94 degree high and full sun.  By 9:00 it will still be 80+.

World records set at Pocono

Older Pacers:  Always B Miki, Sweet Lou .... 1:47.0
3 yo Colt Pacers:  Betting Line .... 1:47.2
3 yo Trotters: Father Patrick, 1:50.2 (Mission Brief also went 1:50.2 at Dover)
3 yo Filly Pacers: 1:48.3 .... Kiss Me Onthebeach

Father Patrick, ABM and Lou did it in June; the others later in the year.

I don't think it's likely we see WR's but with the weather, who knows.

To me, the most likely to tie/break a WR is Sintra, even though he's probably not even the Most Likely Winner of his race.  He's already a 47.2 and as an early 5 yo still has upside.  But he's a better big track horse and absolutely needs a set up.  Also looking forward to seeing Filibuster who may be a very, very special 4 yo.

All the races had interesting draws.  Kissininthesand drew far outside in the 3FP.  Lather Up is outside.  Six Pack far outside .

Good luck.

I don't live there, I'm not on welfare and I'm far less like than you to kill myself, accidentally or otherwise.. I just like seeing fast horses run fast.

I will be there, to see the best of the best race against each other is what the sport is all about. You can keep the overnite junk for the middle of winter.  This is what the sport is all about and at a track that really cares about hosting races.

don't know if they still have that outdoor grandstand seating that towers high over the track. nice view. but tv coverage is not top notch. camera too close doesn't pan out enough. track itself narrower than most but red clay nice touch. takeout is criminal. handle is abysmal but should be decent for this one night. place doesn't deserve to have breeders crown. grade b place. stay out of that 30% tri pool.

Races 9, 10, 11, 12 are the big stakes events...how come it occurs to nobody there to card a pick-4 for those races, maybe with a guarantee?
Pretty sad, actually.
