What a joke. Can’t believe IRB would approve such a ridiculous set of dates. No jurisdiction can survive without a breeding program. This set of dates in essence destroys Illinois standardbred stakes program. A shame IRB are political appointments from governor Pritzker without much knowledge in history and/or business of standardbred/ thoroughbred racing.  All good things must come to an end.

Winter racing at its very best!

There shouldn't be many/if any good horses racing this meet.

Shocked if they fill one card per week. That is probably what management banked on. They still get host track status for simulcasting money. Not sure how charade of  building a casino has lasted for five years.

Could the 10 claimers there----if they go faster than 153.1----beat Cam Fella? If not, certainly the better horses in Chicago could.

I thought Mr. Davis would change things…time to pack up and move to a neighboring state

Two years ago, our syndicate was thinking of sending our stallion to a smaller state where he could dominate a sires program. We thought maybe Illinois would be a possibility, after examination, and speaking with various Il. stake holders we found. Illinois has no mares, no farms, and the promise of slots was a fake dream.
