nowadays we have no idea what odds you will receive until around the 3/8ths pole--after the bell money makes the oddsboard before the race irrelevant
Totally agree it's definitely a problem and I really don't have the solution but I've really never paid much attention to the odds.. it doesn't matter who the public likes.. it matters who you like in a particular race

i used to think that way but when a horse who likes to blast out of there gets absolutely hammered on the first turn, well, thats discouraging

looking at the will pays helps somewhat in telling us what the odds usually will be--even with the past posting

I agree about it being discouraging. I just dont let the odds determine who I'm going to wager on.It sucks when you bet an Exacta and when you bet it right before the bell and it's 20 bucks per dollar and it happens to come in and it pays 10 bucks per dollar

The Pocono programs list some recent fines and suspensions regarding the drivers and trainers who are there, which is great. The public needs to know! At Harrahs Philly when they have a day with 15 races rather than the usual 14 they eliminate the page that explains how to read the program and lists the abbreviation key and track names/distances etc., placing the betting public at a disadvantage. They should keep this in and add another 65 pages to list the recent relevant fines and suspensions of the local horsemen.
Don't delay, Coggins today!

A broken line during a race will be followed by the abbreviations:  acc. Dnf

The Northfield Park website did claims and judge's rulings.  Is this still done today?  I haven't used the website lately.

There is a simple answer but the industry will not accept it. Betting ends at post time and the starting gate does not move until after post time.

there would be a massive handle loss if they stopped the betting after the bell
