What is not being said is that the race was NOT a world record performance by any of these and the 1:48:1 time was matched by other horses last night. I do not believe there is a 1:46 type of superstar here but several really top colts in this division and Beau Jangles was an overhyped top notch horse but he is NOT an all-time champion like Niatross. Beau stays on a 7/8 mile track and never ventures outside of his comfort zone, until the last 2 weeks. He raced well, just not good enough to beat the top 2, and Brandon Blvd was the best horse last night and he will beat these 2 going forward.
No shame for Jangles last night, all the past 2 weeks proved is that he isnt one of the all time bests. I dont think a driver change has anything to do with it. Still was right there as was Brandon and both horses will get their fair share. Meadowlands Pace looks like a great showdown for once where Mamba has a shot to really start to build his legend. The Burke horses Papi and Melillo put in pretty good efforts there and could be a factor in the Pace.
Agreed! In the elimination, he got beat with a tough trip, first over and didn't clear while his major foes followed him with cover. Better trips yield better results even at this level when all of the horses have the same talent. In the final, he led the pack at the half and got beat again. The horses that got a better trips beat him again.Food for thought: I'm not a big fan of McClure, but right now, it is what it is. If you change drivers, who will it be? Many of the good drivers have other commitments!
