Racing Hill Back
« on: December 16, 2022, 01:36:44 PM »
After spending the past six years in the breeding shed at Hickory Lane Farm in Findlay, OH, Racing Hill has returned to the racetrack. On Thursday night (Dec. 16) at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway, the soon-to-turn-10-year-old pacer finished second in a qualifying race, race-timed in 1:54.3 while beaten two lengths. Any Comments, how will he race be off for 6 years? Any reason the owners would make this move?

Far from a dud but your standards are probably higher than mine. He achieved quite a bit with middle of the road mares (and that's being kind).

OK, then theyŕe greedy fucks, what other answer can there be. DO YOU THINK TOM HILL NEEDS A MIDDLE OF THE PACK STUD? He's not paying his way. Who knows maybe he'll be a claimer when they're done.

Not until he races some money off his card.  Maybe Ohio will write a NW4000L5 or horses that won a crown and sired 100+.   ngc3

If you are breeding for the yearling sales, they better bring $40K or you are in a bad situation. Stag Party averaged less than $15K.

being a stallion is very tough
there are new ones every year and if you dont perform you get dropped
of course some horses should never go to stud anyway
racing hill
     -cost $22k as a yearling
      -weak maternal family
-nothing special as a 2 yr old
-sure he is out of a full brother to bettors delight but we are still waiting for a son of bd to be a great sire
-calling bettors wish and /or tall dark stranger, please show up

stag pary...please!!!
   another son of bettors delight
   won 7 of 32 starts
took a mark of 150.4 and 2 and never beat it
won 50% of his earnings in that race , the metro final
trained by someone of questionable practices

and there are many more, might be okay for smaller jurisdictions  but not for the main states

Lance doesn't think being a stallion is tough.

there are way too mediocre horses going to stud after okay but not great 3 yo campaigns

Gulf Shores? are you kidding me..why?

Racing Hill was a very good 3yo but was hardly the kind of horse that was going to have a great breeding career...much like the Big Jims of the world..why not continue to race.

Last time I saw a horse return after 5-6 years I think it was Klingon Hanover who was 2nd or third in Big M pace came back to race at 10
