Total Handle tonight was $2,475,294.00---last year it was $2,314,260------Woodbine was $1,972,339 and it IS in Canadian dollars----if you read the Woodbine program and see the purse listed, after it is recorded in the USTA the amounts drop down to USA dollars, so this NONSENSE about the Canadian handles being equivalent to USA dollars is bogus. ------16W AWOL as usual.
Last year the Meadowlands handle was $2,412,658 the same night. Tonight was a $400,000 increase. As anyone can see the MYTH created by 16W is a PROVEN fallacy as the Meadowlands remains the #1 harness racing handle in north America and it is not even close! Woodbine's numbers are shown on their website as CANADIAN dollar figures which are 24% LESS in value to the US dollar. That case is CLOSED.
AND AT MOHAWK YOU DONT HAVE TO LISTEN TO OR SMELL THE HYMIE TOWN HEEBTHAT IS WORTH A MILLION ALL BY ITSELF
Straight from the Standardbred Canada website: 'The Woodbine handle numbers posted on the Standardbredcanad a.ca website are in "Canadian dollars". Similarly the "purses", and "lifetime earnings", are posted in Canadian dollars for Woodbine and for all Canadian racetracks.'-------FACT, so this ends the discussion for good with you vulgar entities! Any handles from Canada must have it reduced by 24% to equate to US dollars. The Meadowlands outdoes Woodbine BIGLY every single weekend!
Mohawk tonight's handle in US dollars was $1,340,333. The Meadowlands plowed through $2,334,661 at the windows. (Last year they did $2,193,313.) That is $1 MILLION US dollars more was bet on NJ than on Canada.
This is straight from the Information Technology director of the Standardbred Canada website: " The final handle shown is the total money bet. It is all in Canadian dollars. US dollars, and money bet from all locations, are converted into the Canadian pools and then reported in Canadian dollars."-------Get your facts straight before spewing falsehoods. Now you all know the facts and they are indisputable. 16W and his minions have been posting false statements here for a long time. The fact is Woodbine is NOT even close to matching the Meadowlands handles on the weekends. The mystery has been solved as the doubters have retreated into perpetual hibernation.
What are you talking about? The Canadian handle was assumed by you and 16W to be an equivalent comparison to the Meadowlands handle in ACTUAL money comparisons. I have shown you the FACT that it is NOT an equivalent comparison UNTIL you convert the Canadian currency to US currency. Only then can one make a determination as to which track actually has the higher amount. I showed you exactly how Canada's handle is figured out by them. They automatically convert any foreign currency to Canadian currency and post that total in Canadian dollars. Simple.
I gave you FACTS. If you cannot understand that the Meadowlands does a higher handle than Woodbine does there is nothing left to explain. Average out the "past 3 months" weekend handles at both tracks in US dollars and you will get the answer.
