What will happen to the welfare dwellers @ the Goshen S.R.O's? They rely on the Government for everything, so close to Christmas too. Such a shame for those who rely on those services.
Sen. Thune (R) can file a motion for cloture anytime he wants. It would force a simple majority vote ..but then again the massive federal employee layoffs would be front page news, the newest House number would be sworn in, and the heinous exposure of pedos in Republican circles would horrifying anyone with a conscience. MAGA Mike the closeted twink can't have that, nor can Trump probably, since after all he was Epstein's BFF
WRONG. passing the continuing resolution requires 60 votes, Republicans only hold 53 seats in the senate.Prove me wrong with a link to trustworthy information.
Ask in spring of next year after I take advantage of an extra 6000-dollar deduction on my taxes. I am over 65 and ss is part of my income. The thing that has strained my budget the most here in NJ is the 20 pct raise in electric bills starting this summer that was caused by wacko Democrat governor Phil Murphy's love for windmills and hate for fossil fuels.
I disagree. And I know more than you because I worked for a NJ utility company for over 30 years. The increase was caused by 2 reasons: PJM was slow to act on alternative energy requests and AI data centers are swallowing up huge amounts of electricity, so demand was exceeding supply.
you're correct 60 votes are needed. Who in their right mind wants to agree to cutting off food thru SNAP and WIC for millions of people, Republican voters and Democratic voters? How can we chant America First then give that idiot in Argentina 40 billion? No matter who has a majority, Congress is supposed to debate, then agree thru deal making. The Republicans aren't budging, but the Democrats should just give in? Doesn't sound like compromising or deal making to me.John, you were incorrect my friend. Too much time playing golf must have gotten to you
I rarely discuss politics because it tends to bring out the worst in some people. I honestly believe so much more would get done in this country if we did away with the 2-party system and everybody ran as an Independent. It would eliminate all the constant bickering and playing the blame game by both parties. Sometimes the other party holds out simply for spite which winds up affecting millions of people. I know it will never happen in my lifetime because neither party would ever agree to it.
