He showed no signs jogging or training hard? This smells in my opinion.
Broken ribs in a human are super painful. I don't see how this would not of showed up.

Geez, Raced with fractured ribs and was uncovered in a 1:47.3 mile. Think got beat around 5 lengths. Horse raced phenomenal under those circumstances. Love to see him heal up and come back next year to see the real Louprint again. I’m sure connections will just retire him and start new career as a stallion

Always and I mean always have a full gate for studs. I don't care how docile you think they are.

Fake news written all over this situation! I would like to know how the person getting him ready didn't have a sign of this while fastening his girth. Definitely a sure sign that the painkiller in the Brigade is some extraordinary shit!!!😲

If they retire him to stud, I hope they send him to New York! He would be a great fit.

You may be on to something.  He definitely would’ve felt something getting him geared up and ready to race.

Considering the value of the animal and the value of this particular race, it's truly amazing a full gate
was overlooked. You never know what's walking by your stall.

On to nothing. Horses are phenomenally stoic.

I've not had a horse with fractured ribs and I am not clear if physiologically they would be the same level of pain as a human but a simple google search alludes to the fact that it would really hinder a horse. The term "fracture" could be pretty loose and actually mean one or more hairline fractures (still pretty impressive he paced what he did). Or his pain tolerance it incredibly high, by virtue of his own stoicism or something else.

No matter what the case I feel badly for Louprint. And I am sure they would not have knowingly raced him with that kind of injury. I am sure he can heal up well; whether that means a racing or only stud career, time will tell.
