The 2yr old filly Pace, and Aged Mare Trotters only had 8 and 10 entrees so there are no elims for them. In the 2 yr Filly Trot, Birr Castle automatically advances to final as a result of winning the Jim Doherty Trot. All the other races have elims with no byes.

2 byes each were given out in aged trot and aged mare pace

Thanks for the correction. I do see in those elims, the top 7 advance to the finals.

1st Elimination

Beau Jangles
Gentleman's Club
Funky Buddha
Sweet Lovin Lou
Redland Rocket Man
Ubrute
Al Papi

2nd Elimination

Fragment
Be Sting
Brandon Blvd
Melillo
Cooperstown Boy
Odds On Mr Mamba

So, in his Jug elim, RRM-----even on the bullring half with no straightaways-----still won, and big, from off the pace. Only a 5 horse field, but he still came from last, 3 wide, and walked away from the rest of the field. He is without question the sharpest horse right now. I am looking forward to the eliminations.

1) I hate the way byes are handled.  If the top 2 money earners decline then no byes should be awarded.  In the mares open pace Tarapasta got a bye.  She was 5th in the mares open last time out in Dayton.

2) One downside to some of these regional tracks getting the BC is local trainers are more apt to give it a shot with lesser horses.  I understand it is exciting for them but my guess is more than one will gum things up down the backside…see point 1

I agree with Kenny! 4 turns will separate the men from the boys!  tmbz1

Very good points.  tmbz1  I prefer big tracks, red heads, thin crust pizza and an absence of petrelli posts.  Different strokes.   ;D

I disagree. Smaller tracks yield more action in the race and bring the fans closer to the action. Of course the fans do not matter any more.

LOL.

Well, not sure if some people here believe it, but there's always been the rumor, or conspiracy theory, that the track at Scioto is "short" to speak. Regardless, a 5/8 does add more strategy to the race.....potentia lly, depending on the draw, LOL.

Like I said, I am looking forward to the BC races.
