Forget about winning, TH Theo would of destroyed Eastie Boy by 2-3 lengths if his run doesn't start mid stretch.

Knowing the end of the race, we know that wasn't the case but who knew best was McNair, he knew that horse had an engine under his hood that was all go until the wire.  Too bad McNair's option ran out of time, lose by 3/4 length coming on big....he also fell asleep and allowed Eastie Boy to accelerate on him in the stretch while he was worried about getting out, too late.  Leave it on the field, this is not a conventional racing night!

Just watched the replay, he was slightly gapping the leader when he got boxed in at the 5/8. I would have stayed in as well. Alot of times the rail opens up at Mohawk down the stretch. Eastie boy was the best horse. Can't pull the pocket there against the heavy favorite. Also I wouldn't say the 6 was cooked..he closed in 26.3

Eastie Boy ran out of gas before the wire, listen to Ronnie's interview.  We saw it, he was all out, and had huge respect for Th Theo, who was clearly the competition in the absence of Shalom Hanover.

I will say Phillip Collura from the Burke ownership team was all class in his interview, first with the mention of the Shalom team having to scratch, his sadness for them despite being their competition because he's been their before too.  Good guy, transparent and nice interview.

Last I checked the race was a mile and he was first at the finish line by a comfortable margin. Monday morning quarterbacking but someone who lost a $2 mind bet does not change where the $500,000 CAD check will be sent.

You missed the point entirely Dougie knew what kind of engine TH Theo had under his hood the odds were wrong, his strategy was wrong not because it was conventional, you leave it on the field, anyway he would of won.  Ronnie said he was cooked post interview, TH Theo had more let's say, going forward the other not.
