Hambletonian and KYSS Finals 2027

So, I had a brief chat with Gabe Prewitt after the Jug final
I will post my summary of jug week later today
Anyhow.. nothing really earth shattering.

He said he was torn about the Hambo..hates to see it leave the Meadowlands, but that Hoosier was going to take the opportunity and run with it. Lots of the stakes that are on today's card and Dan Patch Day will be moved to Hambo Day
The likely race date is August 21st.
I asked him about the fractured relationship between Gural and Campbell, he really didn't want to get into that, but you could tell he is not a fan of Gural..and that it is sour grapes on Gural's part by creating the new races at the Meadowlands

As far as the KYSS finals, he said he wants more horses to be entered into the LBJ in future years and he realizes that the KYSS is in a direct conflict to jug week. Next year they MAY move the KYSS finals back a week.

Thanks for the update. I was more interested/concerned about the conflict with new Meadowlands $1m trot race and the Hambo.....however, as I said, I saw John Campbell and Jeff Gural at the Jug. They were looking at each other from across the room like ex-spouses, LOL, until Jeff walked over to talk to John. I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall, but in the end, it turns out that the Hambletonian Society is going to move the Hambo dates so there is no conflict and horses can race in both if the connections choose to. I was surprised at the Meadowlands press release when it said the Meadowlands wanted to "thank" the SBOANJ AND The Hambletonian Society. I don't remember exactly what it said, but it was something like thanking them for working together on making this race happen and so on.

Whatever track he goes to, the handle increases
It's not his fault the race is moving
That's on Campbell and Gural
He saw the opportunity and took it.
