Michigan-Funding for current harness meet

Where does the funding come from? And why do they have a meet? It's like a month long and each day they do about $8,000 TOTAL in wagering and $80,000 in purses.

So over the course of the meet probably a $1,000,000 in purses for $100k TOTAL in wagering...or $30k takeout. What am I mising? And no on track betting so maybe the takeout is even less.

I agree, crazy. Pissed around and watched and bet real small [p+s sometime] a
couple times just for giggles..Wild payouts. Get alot of ALL in exotics. One race
 I had the only $2 on a horse to show paid $14+ .
