The GC goes straight through to the BC. I think there are more options now, but between the Metro for 2yo's, the Jug for 3yo's-----although it's lost a lot of it's prestige, from both the sport side and with the breeders, and then Lexington; there's a lot for the real fans. As far as marque events, maybe in the eye of the beholder-----Metro, Jug, Kentucky Futurity, the Tattersalls Pace maybe, some might say the Bluegrass, and the International Stallion Stakes. But, as they say, it all comes down to the Breeders Crown.

Metro the biggest and maybe the Richest of all

The top stallions win the Metro....the acid test

All the other Sire Stakes and Grade 2 and Grade 3

races are wonderful.....

but there can be only 1 Metro winner..

and...if that winner goes to the NA Cup and JUG

Now ..you have a real tough horse

Actually very few Metro Pace winners go on to be good stallions. In almost 40 years of The Metro Pace most winners were failures as a stallion. You have: Mach Three-SBSW-Captaintreacherous.......then Artsplace and Rock N Roll Hanover and thats it.  Maybe Sportswriter as well.  Winning the Metro Pace is mostly a curse for wannabe stallion. Based on history I'd be very vey weary of breeding to a Metro Pace winner. Odds are stacked highly against you.
