Transparency.....
« on: Today at 08:14:31 AM »
I think Mike Repole, who is a tell it like it is, or at least tell it like he sees it kind of guy, has called for transparency. But, even more than transparency, is what he discovered more than deceptive sales practices? Is it fraud? I don't know. Keeneland reports $900k on their sales results, to the public, etc. Inflates their sales figures, their averages, and so on. Consignor does the same thing. But Keeneland cuts a check and charges the consignor based upon the legit $500k. The seller gets a check based upon the legit $500k. I am sure somewhere, some 1099 lists $500k, and no way is anyone paying tax on $900k. So what happened? Was this a legit mistake or something, or did someone get caught doing something?

And Keeneland responds.....

So who in our industry is big enough to call for this? Maybe the more important question is.....who in our industry is big enough and not in on it, to call for this?

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: Of course you didn't "G". Tell us who Mr B partnered with in assisting with creating the NYSS....Another well respected man. Funny you don't mention Mr. Bs trademark rose colored glasses. His son also worked at the track for a while when he needed a job for him.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: Oh yeah G? Then we have something in common. "Mr B" was the man who asked if I could handle maintaining Historic Track when Barry the former Montgomery PD Chief quit as manager at Goshen and they had nobody. You know to me as a kid I was in awe of the place, had my little stable and caring for that track?

  • Sweet: Which one is the lie that you told to the forum?  ngc3 (or both?  ngc3)  (1) On 12/9/25 G tells a story that he visited FATSO's farm for the first time that previous Saturday.  (2) On 8/11/26 G tells a story that the first time he's been to FATSO's farm was two week prior (end of July 26').
