As a former driver and trainer I have to ask one question. "If the track was so bad,why didn't they refuse to race on it?. Perhaps the Horsemens Association should also be held liable also! A tragic event of this nature affects the entire family of the injured driver,hopefully they will receive some compensation also!

I haven't gone in the court records to check the status, if a settlement was reached, amended filing...your suggestion makes sense. Sad when all parties, even your "own team" are that stupid, greedy, liable.
His tragedy and its awareness has probably prevented injuries, possibly even saved lives i.e. delays, cancellations that may not have happened, improvements, repairs - to prevent statistically high bad outcome issues from occurring.
