https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtc_xM2cX0w   Only 4 horses to beat and he was 3rd at his favorite track to boot. Ran great but there are others greater this year! The announcers have to STOP making excuses and still building up Beau when they should be building up the horses defeating him who ARE better this year.

BJ is a real nice horse, he is just not great. The word great is thrown around way too much. That word should be reserved for horses like Niatross, SBSW and Bret Hanover. Those three lost less races than BJ COMBINED!!!!!!!

This loss is BJ's fastest race yet, and shown cutting 120 4/5 fractions.

BJ banked $360k at 3 and is at over $2 mil.

Fucking leaps and bounds since dummy bobble got tossed.

Props to Redland Rocket Man with JJ, 146 4/5 on the 7/8's, last quarter in 25 4/5.  Sweet Lovin Lou on lasix wasn't catching him.  Golden trip provided by BJ.

Considering it was a 5 horse field with no competition pushing pace, not bad, and of the 3 the 1 was the disappointment not BJ.

Was a blazing fast track.  2yo filly pacer went in 1:49.4 and lots of other fast times.  Doesn't take anything away from Redland Rocket's mile, but how it was run was more impressive to me than the time.  I bet Jameson's biceps are sore.

No disgrace. Record mile.

another clock obsessed fan

he finished 3rd in a five horse field at 2/5 vs OSS Gold Series horses

he is probably the 3rd best OSS horse out there and not even close to the top ten Grand Circuit 3yos

considering he was crowned Niatross and the track was souped up--i would say it validates that he is a mere shell of his old self

No I am not. Horse raced good but got beat by a good horse who got a perfect trip.

What % decrease in stud value do you suggest if he was syndicated last year until waiting until this year? 50%? Which 3 year old pacer would you breed to next year for free if given the chance?

not a bad theory

Randy said no way would Doc Moore go to Jug off that performance

trainer Pentland of Red Rocket Man said he would sleep on it but said the horse would love two heats

we will find out soon who will be actually showing up

I am sure Burke will have 3 or 4 at least

Good theory...sad they have to still guinea pig this horse because he's improved but still unpredictable.

Pop the earplugs at the start, run free-legged with a hood and we'll see a 145 flat on the mile  ngc3

If Beau Jangles races in the Jug 2 heats and wins

that would instill some confidence ....but

would rather breed to a horse like Captains Quarters

or Nijinsky.

The former raced all Stakes races..no Sire Stakes

Metro Winner, NA Cup elim and 2nd in Final and

Jug heat winner..

He took on all top colts and never backed down

win or lose...Top Maternal Family in the sport

Raced against Captain Albano, Legendary, Nijinsky etc

not Grade 3 Sire Stakes horses.

The OSS Sire Stakes is B racing at best...

Beau Jangles also very weak maternal family....

super horse...but given top mares he will produce

some good ones...my guess

You can't be serious or that ignorant. His grandmother is Bunny Lake and that's one of the primiere A1 maternal lines of all time.

Nijinsky..really????  Unfortunately for him he's a son of Bettors Delight. Betters Delight might have been the greatest sire of all time but as a sire if sires hes been a failure. I wouldn't take the chance.
Captians Quarters was a nice horse and all....but there is not a lot of commercial appeal. He should be ok from the limited chance he'll get.  SHould be a good OSS stallion and decent vale for $5000

Yes weak maternal line on Beau Jangles....

Dam was at best a mediocre race horse

Raced 35 starts over 4 years....

Made $35,000

Yeah Bunny Lake....how far you wanna go back

vs. Nijinsky and Captains Quarters?????

the dams of those were Top Stakes Calibre...

Dam of CQ won almost $500K in 2 seasons..

Won the 3 Diamonds if I remember...

Bunny Lake

Bunny Lake produced a total of 5 recorded foals during her career as a broodmare at Hanover Shoe Farms.  Though she was a titan on the racetrack—earning over $2.8 million and winning the 2001 Horse of the Year title—her production record as a mother was relatively small. Through her offspring (most notably her first foal, Bunny's Legacy), she successfully established a enduring family line that continues to produce competitive standardbred performers today.
Overall, as a broodmare not exceptional.
