but these last few years when you see Chad, Pletcher or Asmussen in a maiden claimer---either a first timer or an experienced maiden claimer---that usually means they have given up and want to lose the horse via claim

they would rather concentrate their efforts on others in the barn and they are not interested in claimers

of course they win but usually are over bet and not worth it
