Vindictiveness with no concern about the fans or the fact that Hoosier has one third the fan appeal of the Meadowlands. Sounds about right for harness racing leadership. Time to end the handouts.

Not my opinion, but #2 is interesting.

Key Reasons for the problem at The Meadowlands:

1- Casino License Push: Gural stated he could not commit to a long-term five-year contract to host the expensive event without knowing if the track would receive a lucrative North Jersey casino license. New Jersey must pass a referendum to allow a casino at the Meadowlands, as state law currently limits casinos to Atlantic City.

2- Integrity and Medication Rules: A major point of contention involves disagreements over misconduct rules. Gural has been vocal about tightening regulations against trainers suspected of using performance-enhancing drugs, creating friction with the Society over which trainers and drivers are permitted to compete.

3- Long-term Financial Certainty: Because of the financial cloud over the New Jersey track, the Hambletonian Society opened bidding to secure a stable, long-term home for harness racing's most prestigious event.

yet JG lobbied for Engblom to not only have his suspensions stayed, he wanted it completely removed

and he has used trainers Bongiorno, Julie and Ake

seems hypocritical to me

Let's also remember Gural employed/employs Ron Burke. Four trainers, and I use that term very loosely, that are well known to "help" horses. Hypocritical? Gural is the definition of hypocritical. That is why he will fail. The idiots who defend Gural will be screaming, even louder now, HANDLE, HANDLE, HANDLE, which for purses today, mean actually nothing.

       Sincerely, Silent One

One stakes race Hoosier could move to Hambo day could be the Jenna's Beach Boy
Its for 3 year old colt pacers.
That race always fell the day after LBJ day which always seemed odd to me

I am sure Gabe, after a 15 minute drag, will figure it out

no brainers would be the Dan Patch and the race you mentioned for starters
