Hambletonian Day Recap

Melander is the top trotting trainer this year. His owners spend and will likely continue to be a force.
Ake won 1 but nearly as good as previous years.
Andy and Julie return with a nice horse.
Noel Daley had a good day.

Takter was a zero and continues to tail off.
Alagna has disappeared.
Engblom was a disappointment
Wallin took a step back this year...stock wise.
Burke got good money...but didn't win a race.

The Hambletonian was exciting and an old fashion throw down.
VINCENNES & JOHN CASHMAN MEMORIAL were battles too.
Many short fields didn't help the handle.

Worse drive was Wrenn Jr. Bythemissal raced well. Left out some and that forced him to be first over. The horse circled the field in last.
J-Mac kept Captain Albano alive. He ducked in the following two races. He seemed beat...but was able to get them both up.

Best day of racing at the swamp in awhile. Thank you Jeff for one last beautiful day of great racing. I don't think we will see another card like that there again.

it was another great day of racing but the Big M is hurting themselves by carding the McKee and Lady Liberty at the end when everyone is going home or left already..why dod that, You have 2 of the greatest mares ever colliding and you bury them when no one is left to see them

..apparently they want to be trot heavy early but thats stupid....a 5 horse sire stakes final should be racing 14 ditto for the lesser continental victory and muscle hill races

Overall though no one puts on the big production like the meadowands, not hooiser, not mohawk and certainly not Scioto or the Red Mile, it would be a travesty if they took the Hambo away from the Big M because no one will give a shit but the locals and not the betters...maybe great attendance numbers elsewhere but way less betting
