"Not really the driver's fault"?  Can't believe you're giving him a pass for his butcher drive. You either commit for the lead right away or sit 4th and come first over. He who hesitates gets hung to the half in 52 and change and is up the track.

He’s not the first great two year old colt to regress at 3. With that being said, atrocious trip by McClure, I’ll assume he’s not driving him again. Jody’s colt was massive in here as well.

This type of race really shows how incredible SOMEBEACHSOMEWHER E was with the awful trip he got in the Meadowlands Pace & still paced hard right to the wire, just getting beat.

Yes, the bigger story ought to be the horse that won. He earned that record for sure.

I knew you would say that because you're afraid to criticize anyone for a bad drive.

A professional driver shouldn't put himself in that position by being indecisive.

Have you ever seen a horse of the year come back the following year and fall from grace this fast?

not sure what some drivers and trainers are thinking
the horse needed an easy trip for many reasons, 2 hole, second over
instead he gets gutted
there was no need for mcclure to even put the horse in the position he did

its not a question of could any of us have done better
we are not professional drivers
the fact is that a upper end professional driver does not get caught in that situation
period, end of story
especially under the current circumstances of the horses health and both mental and physical

Here is what are facts:

12 starts at 2         won every race

Metro ..extremely  tuf to actually win this race

Breeders Crown

OSS Gold

12 starts...that is insane....I had my doubts as to

how he would pull off a successful 3 year old season

after (12 ) 2 yr old starts.

McClure drove him perfect at 2..but I donot think Dexter

Dunn would have fared all that better..at 3

Beau was starting to get tired...and fresher fit horses

were in line in the NA Cup elims and Final...and

you could see the changing of the guard slowly but surely.

By the time Beau was back in OSS he was worn out

and yesterday the same.....

Yeah,,Tuf 1/2...but you arent always getting 1:01

halves.....heck 2 year olds beat 1:50 yesterday!!!!

Same thing would have happened with Dexter Dunn

driving IMO.

Disagree if u wish....but as they say...

it is what it is.

Who am I to 2nd guess Ian Moore but if I had him

there are 1 of 2 options...

3 weeks off paddock time...

start back and aim for the JUG....

Gotta be 100% to 101%

If he trains poorly or draws Bad..Scratch him

last try....Win or Lose.

Book the farm now and get the Stallion ads

into production..

Beau Jangles did what we saw...

Nothing else to prove.

He was great.....

Should do well in the Breeding Shed.
