Anyone else notice besides me when Joe bongiorno drives his horses he trains. He’s rockin and rockin and has to win by 6-7 lengths with everything but when he’s driving for a regular trainer he sits there like he’s paralyzed. Why use that scumbag if he’s gonna just sit there like a statue

where did he pick up that unusual style of non stop rocking back and forth?

does he really think it helps?

if it does help--why is he the only driver who uses that style?

I am just an observer-can anyone answer these questions?

A long time ago at Brandywine Raceway several of the drivers such as Vern Crank and a few others used to rock the bike all the time. I recall when Mickey McNichol was still driving he was very animated and liked to rock the bike, in fact, track announcer Larry Lederman used to say, Mickey's rocking and rolling and pushing and shoving.

I attended Brandywine back in those days--usually Crank would rock somewhat in the stretch but it wasn't nearly as exaggerated compared to what JB does

sure many rock once or twice in deep stretch at times--only this kid is rocking for the entire length of the stretch if not earlier .

Back in Crank's days the sulkies were made out of wood so you couldn't move around in the bike as much as today's sulkies. As for Joe, it works for him whether it's silly or not.

I can’t be the only that saw this tool bag Joe B jaw at Silva last night after Mark closed up rail on the kid?

I agree with other posters any horse he trains and drives he bounces in the bike like idiot and he fucking holds his hand holds further back than any other driver BY A MILE) I am praying the lines snap and he only one to
go down somehow..

He deserves every single point of criticism b/c he doesn’t have an ounce of talent in the bike..

I remember Vern coming to New York it was a nice guy and a great driver.

Vern Crank was a first-class prick. Once at Brandywine in the post parade a friend of mine and I asked him politely how old he was, his response, old enough to kick your fucking ass.
