Burke 2yos
« on: Today at 06:33:01 AM »
I'm sure he has some good ones this year...but really seems to be the minority.  I think his Ohio 2yos look very average so far or even below.  Does anyone know the number of 2yos he starts with?  Has to be triple digits I would think.  With so many homebred now, his break-even level is much lower than other large barns so I'm sure he is still raking it in.  Just think his 2yo crop doesn't seem as good, as early this year.  Time will tell i suppose.

Starts with around 125 babies. Many are homebreds now. Dominates Ohio now, and he'll make a fortune in Kentucky. His ability to set up big operations where the big money is allows him to make huge money every year. Great operation, and he must be very good to his help. They remain loyal to him. If you look closely, he'll even have horses in the smaller tracks' sire stakes programs.  Read he has a Delaware-bred that is the best one there.

Burke has a great operation so many good horses but I do think his 2&3 year olds have started off slower than normal.  The 3yr olds are rolling now

It's all a numbers game with him and the other big stables. Most either suck or fall by the wayside, but they have enough good ones to give the appearance of success.

That is exactly my point in this thread.  Is it actual success other than a few trophies?  Or is it merely recouping the costs of the ones that couldn't cut it?  Is Ronnie the only one getting rich with his training percentage and bills?

He has the same owners year after year. That answers your question.

Is there something he could no longer use? Takter has fallen off too. In my opinion the top cheaters adjust and find a new way around the testing.

Since most of the two year olds have only made two or three starts if any at all, this conclusion is a bit premature.

Guess we are the only ones that see it.  He has dominated Ohio and it does not look like that will be the case this year.  And overall, his crop looks average at best.
