Missed them both because I was at Scioto. Just watched the replays
We are in for a great final next week.
These were just elims..don't get caught up reading to much into it when the ultimate goal is just to qualify for the final.
6 of the horses in the elims could win the final
If I had to choose a winner it'd be OOMM
Lou Dipa, Frantic, AL Papi,Melillo, or Sweet Lovin Lou all could win.
I don't think that was Lou Dipa's best effort. She is capable of going faster
Sweet Lovin Lou is battle tested and had to deal with post 8. Never underestimate Scotty Z in a big race at probably close to 10-1
Al Papi is rounding into serious form.. he benefited off wicked fractions.
Yannick will try to gun him to the lead that's his style obviously
Frantic closed the best after leaving hard in his elim
That race looked easy for OOMM. He should have some serious juice left in the tank for next week and he looked comfortable on the smaller track

We'll get 2-1 or better on OOMM with this hoopla  ngc3

From dead last, w2w, the little guy is amazing!

Bad strategy putting him in that cheap Hoosier stakes race following his big win included in b2b races in that series at Mohawk.

2-1 baby!  ;D

Your theory is based on him pulling to the outside rather than waiting for the passing lane. Sitting in the 2 hole at the top of the stretch some drivers would come to the outside while others would wait for the passing lane. It's true, if you choose to come to the outside, you're helping out the horse sitting behind you, and I've gotten beaten many times by drivers doing it. In an elimination for a big race like this the goal is to worry about yourself first and make the finals, when you start playing around bad things can happen. Wrenn is not going to blame games with Burke's best horse and risk losing his account.

You can think whatever you want but Wrenn didn't go into the race to help Frantic Hanover make the finals, which he would have no chance of winning. If he did, and instead of finishing 4th, he didn't make the finals he'd be in hot water with Burke.

he absolutely knew TT was behind him and he purposely pulled the pocket to allow him to advance inside

you can think whatever you want

im not here to name call , attack , insult or use genitalia as a response(male or female)--you have your opinion and i have mine-no worries there

good luck to you tmbz1

One final comment. I agree, he knew Frantic Hanover was behind him, and yes, pulling to the outside would improve his chances of making the finals, where we disagree is whether he was or wasn't trying to win by doing so, I say yes, you say no. I go back to my previous point which is, what if by helping Frantic Hanover by pulling instead of sitting, she faded out of the top 4 and didn't advance but Frantic did, would you still be saying the same thing?

I feel your theory that he wasn't trying to win is the mindset of some people who are turned off by harness racing because they think alot of races are staged, I'm not saying some aren't but don't believe it happens in big races. We'll just agree to disagree.

He pulled in the turn. No passing lane there. Even that was not soon enough to win. In fact, Wrenn  pulled just after the tree quarters.

He pulled just after the three quarter mark. There isn't a passing lane on the turn.

ok i will briefly play along....

so there is no such thing as a pocket on the turn?

Wrenn just pulled for no reason and the real estate he vacated was not a pocket?

i believe the two winners get to pick their posts not be assigned by a draw
this is the way it should be in every race with eliminations
the winners get drawn to pick their posts
then the second place finishers do the same , and so on
at most racks they draw for 2-6 for the winners, what if a winner draws the 6 hole and the other winner draws inside and the second place finishers also draw inside of that winner, great benefit for winning an elimination...not
let them pick their post, maybe some guy has a horse who loves the rail, or what if in the scenario above your horse doesn't leave well and you have the 6 post, sucks, if given the choice the ownership group might pick the  2 post

its really not that difficult is it ??

And what the heck happened????

Wasn't the Adios  contested in heats??

Now they get the elim...and get a week off to contest

their Final..???

You show up in the Jug, and make the Final..

now you got a tuf horse..

The horses in the Adios should be going heats and the Final

  same day.....

not sure when this changed...but I guess

the top dogs wouldnt even show if they had to contest

  in heats..

But then again to contest heats 2x in the Adios

AND the Jug is a bit much....that I will concede.
