My dad always told the story from back when they ran harness at Wheeling, that it took them over
an hour to get up the hill out of Wheeling due to icy conditions. My uncle [who started it all with racing
for our immediate family] was driving. My old man had to run like hell, after pushing and getting the car
actually moving, to catch up as my uncle didn't dare stop the momentum.

They do double session at Wheeling. We used to open the window and bark as we crossed the bridge on the way to the Meadows.

Wheeling Island used to be beautiful
Now its a rundown shithole like alot of smaller Midwestern towns.
