Catskill Steve Retired
« on: June 02, 2026, 09:30:54 PM »
For must be many decades some guy named Catskill Steve was the Monticello Raceway handicapper. He was pretty easy to understand his picks but his recap of those picks the following day rarely made any sense to me. Anyway after all these years MR announced that a new handicapper has taken over for Catskill Steve. I was wondering if anyone knows why Catskill Steve was replaced or did he just retire? And does anyone know anything about the new handicapper Brian McEvoy?According to today’s USTA article, this guy McEvoy reads every program from every harness truck. Can you imagine doing that 7 days a week? Apparently McEvoy was the handicapper at Pocono Down for the past 7 years. Was he any good there?
