Do the winners of the elims get to pick their post position for the final?
Just read on DRF Harness an elimination win just guarantees pp2 thru pp 6

what complete bs that like 6 of the top contenders are in one division while the first division is extremely weak sauce. I thought pretty much every track seperates to avoid a troubling situation that we just got.  With only 5 of 8 qualifying you better believe they will be trying...dont want to somehow get nipped for 5th finishing 6th because you waited to sprint to the end and you got boxed in

It'll be interesting who draws into each division
What do you wanna bet OOMM and Brandon are not in the same division as Bj?
Also BJ' s pp 3,4,5, or 6? No way he gets 1 or 8 hole.

This loaded elimination might be more interesting than the final. Do not discount Melillo and Ubrute/Gingras can throw a wrench in BJ and Brandon's plans.

Both of those are definitely good enough to not have to give into the favs.  I’m predicting one of the big 3 in that elim doesn’t make the final.  Sucks, definitely should’ve been seeded so this doesn’t happen.

I think BJ will make his way to the front pretty easily.  Nobody is going to risk hooking up in an elim.  They’ll take a shot the last 1/4 or 1/8 but he’ll get his way.  The final will be a different story.

Don’t think this at all - Yannick and Bartlett know nothing but to leave.  Everyone else will figure that Bob will power move to the lead down the backside and want a pocket trip.  Will be very surprised if we don’t see a sub 26 first panel.   The move for Bob is to settle mid pack in a shorter field and fish cover off of what I expect to be honest fractions.  Fear for the connections is that Bob isn’t confident enough in his abilities to drive this way.

sorry laag  but why would you think tracks "separate" the top contenders to ensure they all make the final
every horse pays the same payments and therefore deserve the same chance of getting to the final
as it turns out some owners who maybe dont have one of the best horses but had the stones to put up the last entry fee and luckily draw into the weaker first division now have a great chance to get to the final
the way the draw shakes out could lead to an awesome final, likely two of beau, brandon, oomm will end up in the open draw for the final which depending where they draw into the final will make things very interesting

The other important part of this race are you racing to win of just get into the final next week?
This would make it more interesting-have the elimination winners draw for 1-2 2nd place finishers draw fir 3-4etc just like the little brown jug. Finish 5th and get in, you get the 9/10 posts! Simple solution??

Agree. One or possibly two of the so called top three could get roughed up or locked in. Dunn will probably take OOMM because of the inside draw. BJ and only BJ gets a hole when he leaves -- who better to follow. Lots of strategy in this one to see who will face the mediocre five from division one. A new top colt could possibly emerge for the final.

Actually rainman2 the LBJ changed that rule starting this upcoming year
If there are 2 eliminations the two winners will draw from pp's1 thru 4...and an open draw for the remaining posts..
If there are 3 eliminations.. very doubtful.. the 3 winners will draw for pp's 1 thru 5

Quote from Tom Wright.. President of the LBJ society..
"The changes are designed to enhance the competitiveness and wagering appeal of the second heat while preserving meaningful incentives for elimination heat performance"

seperating to balance the divisions to make them fair. There is no reason why the top 5 contenders are all in one race and pretty much after thoughts in the 2nd.
