I'm here to tell you that you will not get a single ounce more effort from a horse by beating on it like that as opposed to cracking the hub or shaft a couple times. In fact it usually has an opposite effect. That replay made me want to puke. The poor horse was punished because Kennedy made a bad decision and got hung. I hope the asshole gets a year suspension.

In the future, logically speaking, the conversation needs to be had and make sure it is already on the radar of the officials post incident, as the closer to the incident the horse's body more than likely show evidence of that type trauma, where as in time it would diminish or go away.

Remove all their whips, how's that  , harness racing, t-bred....there are way to urge a horse without whipping, takes time to be responsive.

Train them.

Don't let them on the track if they can't or don't want to race.

I think the whip is overrated and overused especially by jockeys at the cheaper tracks. I see them whipping a horse with a 5-length lead at the 1/16 pole with no one around. Alot of harness drivers hit the shaft instead of the horse to get their attention. I never felt the need to post my bets on here or tell someone what I bet before the race. As for broke, jealous and anything else, I see you're back in fantasy land.
