He beats the same calibre of horses every start in Canada.

He is entirely US owned and they appear to be super horse business savvy. Give them some credit for a so far monstrously successful campaign.

It's unfortunate what is considered racing today. That is not racing. That's is capitulation from the word go. Not saying he wouldn't dust them anyway but that's not my point. Mohawk had 12 dashes last night and they barely handled over 2M, that speaks to their product and in particular their sire stakes, which are always predictable and a hard pass for any gambling. There are simply not enough competitive trainers and drivers up there and the management just doesn't seem to care. As for Beau, he somebeachsomewher e 2.0 a very very nice animal that will go down as making the easiest 3M since the beach. Good for the owners, good for Doc and Bobby but not so good for the game. I can remember going to Blue Bonnets up in Montreal to see the Prix and all the good ones that won in Toronto to see how they lined up with some of ours plus the Fillion clan.

I knew the the comparisons between SBSW and BJ would start at some point, and there are alot of similarities, but some differences as well...
SBSW had 21 lifetime starts.. 6 outside of Canada. 3 at Meadowlands, 2 at Lexington and 1 at Yonkers. BJ hasn't raced outside of Canada yet. 15 starts already, probably 10-12 more at most by my count...so BJ if he remains sound will have 5 to 7 more starts then SBSW. The only sure thing outside of Canada is the breeders crown. Ownership might coddle his schedule even more to keep the undefeated streak in tact. One similarity is the fact that each horse had/has a driver on him that you wouldn't expect. Macdonell got SBSW defeated by a horrible drive in the Pace. Will McClure aka bobble buckle under the pressure as the undefeated streak goes on. Probably at some point...
Of his possible 10 to 12 remaining races, at least 5 or 6 definitely in Canada 2 for the NACup and 3 to 4 for the OSS legs and finals. We will know BJ's ownerships intentions around the end of June, Meadowlands Pace eliminations are on July 4th. So having said all that, I cannot compare the 2 horses as equals yet, not even close..until BJ comes to the states multiple times and competes against the best. He is just dusting the same horses every week now.

Looking into Jug eligibles , I'm making a call, that this 'NO WAITING LIST' will be
one to look for, come Sept. Precious Bunny quick. tmbz1
Thanks BT.

I put him in my VS with the note of your tout and prediction.

If all goes as predicted, I'll be singing your praises in a little over 4 months  tmbz1
Interesting horse, especially with Macintosh as trainer, he has 18 starts, only 1 win ;D
That win was on an off track like last night
Unfortunately for him..10 or 11 of his starts have had BJ in the race.  ngc3
I'd like to see how he'd do in a race or 2 without BJ being in the same race before making any judgments. I will never forget the way Precious Bunny left the gate that day, saw it in person right in front of me at the ripe age of 17. Unfortunately for me, I was pulling for Artsplace that year and he was scratched

Is there a horse that can outsprint BJ the final quarter coming off a slow middle half like last night? Can't outrun BJ over a mile but can outsprint him coming home if given a half mile breather.

guys, we shall see
i do not think doc moore will be ducking anybody
also lets not forget that at 2 he raced 2 elims and 2 finals against the best 2 yr olds and won all 4
yes i know they were at mohawk but still
its very difficult to go undefeated, a bad trip , horse gets a little sick etc, lets see what other 3 yr olds step up, mr mamba etc, and a few other nice horses but they will need to be on the improve significantly

i hope that someone steps up.
I recall Niatross in 1980. He was kind of alone in his greatness.
Every champion benefits from a rival, just like Ali did from Smokin' Joe.
DIdn't  WIJI and Always B Miki put on quite a show?

Beach didn't leave canada at 2 and was shut down early after beating up on horatio and deuce seelster so give it a rest. They have the exact same profile with the only diff being the breeders crown was held at mohawk last year and doc too advantge of it. GReat horses travel, real good ones win at home.

At Springfield Adios Vic was able to out sprint Bret Hanover off a slow three quarters.
Bret was 24 for 24 at two.
A bigger question.
Can the groom of BJ sell more used race shoes then Bret's groom (Dave Willoughby) did?

I am just an old horse trainer still going around in circles. Sometimes Fast. Sometimes Half-Fast.

Willoughby left us a year or so ago but there might be some shoes left.
