Waples made most of his money as a driver based on slots purses. He has no clue how to generate handle. Back when on track handle was purse money, it was a regular occurrence that the starter told drivers take a turn long lines at windows

Question for all you geniuses. If you had a taco stand that closed at 5pm. Looked out at 4:55 and had 50 people in line, would you close and say sorry we don’t want your money?

Post Time and Off Time are two separate things, though someone somewhere fucked that up.

Post Time is the time of the Post Parade.

at Mohawk and M1--post time is 20 minutes before race 1

zero minutes till post for 10 minutes is the standard for most other races

if there is a large mandatory pool--then that adds another 5 minutes or more

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
