Auction purchases…
« on: December 15, 2025, 10:08:24 PM »
Does anyone ever look at who purchased what on sites like on gait or preferred equine and wonder how that person bought that horse?  It’s one thing if when the horse is in to go and now has partners or an owner other than the buyer, but I’ve seen a few lately that draws questions as to how they could afford it.  I’m not talking 6-figure buys, but horse in the $25k-$40k range that I would think the buyer could barely afford a $10k claimer.

Ongait shows the person who bid. NOT THE PERSON WHO WILL NECESSARILY PAY AND OWN THE HORSE. Anyone can bid. A lot of the time, you will see a trainer bid for an owner

And most of the other times, they are buybacks.
