Spare Change
« on: December 04, 2025, 10:59:22 PM »
Time to round up this years spare change and fill The Red Kettles.
Dig out those stray pennies and put them to work!
It will make you feel good!

Very nice Meadow Ford!

Here's some history on one of my, our favorite charities (in and off season too):

"The Salvation Army's Red Kettles are
iconic Christmas tradition and its largest fundraiser, with volunteers ringing bells and collecting donations in kettles outside stores from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve, funding year-round services like food, shelter, and disaster relief, now also accepting digital payments via phone taps (Apple/Google Pay) for convenience. Started in 1891 by Captain Joseph McFee in San Francisco, the campaign provides crucial funds for local communities, with all money staying where it's raised, helping millions in need."

Look at that "small change " prior to dropping it in the pot!, I just saw a story about "Wheat" pennies being worth a grand apiece now!

Got a deal for you.
My Mother-In-Law's estate has about 200 wheat pennies.
We will sell them to you for $500 apiece.  You can make yourself a nice $100,000.
You realize of course that you can buy wheat pennies on Ebay by the pound for little to nothing.
