Pacer 2 thinks harness racing is thriving  ngc3

Just not in Florida and California  ngc3

He started that thread about what sport is not corrupt.

He, Pacer 2 is USTA all the way - I'll bet on it!  ngc3

Attn: all Big M haters, there has and will never be a better track that ever existed that even comes close to comparing to the meadowlands. It’s the Mecca of the sport and will always be. Give Mr. Gural credit for investing in this place because if the big m goes the entire industry will follow. Wise up.

Like some, maybe a few, I've been at the Meadowlands since it opened. Like many, while I am a "supporter" of Gural and what he's trying to do, I do not agree with everything he's done and how he goes about doing various things. I support him getting a casino. I give Gural credit for what he's done at the Meadowlands. I couldn't care less if he-----as people accuse him of-----whines, bitches, moans, etc. However, as it relates to "the product" being offered, the quality, and his position on CAW, I absolutely do not agree with any of what/where he's at. There is another meeting coming up in January on the CAW issue. The last meeting yielded some positive discussion. Whatever the outcome of this next meeting is, I don't know if he will implement any substantial, long-term action step on this or not.

Well, there are some sick dumbass haters on here that think harness racing is the only corrupt sport and want it to go away.

That's not a surprise. It's kind of like the party you are not invited to, LOL.

No doubt that harness racing has a lot of cheaters/crooks within it's ranks. But after watching the NFL so far, it's hard to believe that the NFL's referees aren't corrupt, blind, or just stupid. LOL!

So are you getting enough corruption, blind, stupid shit in your life because if not I'm sure there's more out there you can find besides football and racing.  ngc3

This is interesting. Four good purses on Thursday and none on Friday. No Mohawk on Thursday. Will M1 handle 2 million?

Will they hit a $1mil, and about 55% of that would be CAW.

Disgusting!

Not a penny of my dough!

A lot more. I equate much of harness racing legitimacy on the same par as my days watching/betting Jai-Alai at Dania. LOL! As for pro-sports like football, I think many of those players are betting big bucks on the side.

Kinda like poor Odell Beckham Jr. whose can't seem to get by on the 100 million he's earned. A lot of fans chuckled at that one! LOL! I wouldn't bet no over/under on him! LOL!

Listen fuckface, Mike is the nice guy.

I'm not.

You want to shill for druggers and cheaters, CAW who are welcomed with opened arms by that greedy decrepit old cunt, you've done that.

That's ok, but venting not  ngc3.

You're censoring nobody, just antagonizing.
You proved my point.

The Meadowlands Racetrack  11.gn

"The Meadowlands Racetrack
does not make a profit from its horse racing operations
alone; it operates at a significant loss and requires substantial state subsidies and revenue from sports betting to cover operating costs and purses. The owner has explicitly stated the venue is not profitable on its own.
Financial Realities

Operating Losses: The racetrack consistently incurs losses from its core racing business. In 2024, an additional $11.5 million from sports betting revenue was used to cover these operating losses.
State Subsidies: The Meadowlands, along with Monmouth Park, relies heavily on an annual pool of $20 million in state taxpayer money designated to subsidize horse racing purses. The owner, Jeff Gural, has indicated they "couldn't survive" without this state aid. (Welfare Billionaire Jeff  ngc3)
Declining Revenue: Handle (total money wagered) on horse racing has been in decline for years, making it harder for the revenue generated to sustain current purse levels or operational expenses.
Sports Betting Revenue: The partnership with FanDuel for sports betting provides crucial ancillary revenue. A portion of this revenue is mandated to go towards purses, and the remainder helps cover the operational shortfall.
Future Uncertainty: The current subsidies are set to continue through 2029, but the owner has emphasized the need for a casino license at the Meadowlands for the long-term survival of the racetrack and the sport in New Jersey.

In essence, the Meadowlands complex generates significant overall tax revenue for the state of New Jersey, but the racetrack division itself requires external funding to remain operational."
