I made my bones on NY racing. Since then, the Meadowlands has been my livelihood since the 80's. It's now not my exclusive focus and play. Setting aside CAW, takeout, and all that, I think Gural, management, and the race office, are fighting a losing battle. You are fighting the horse population and the purses/structure you can offer, and everything that goes along with that.
Bottom line, for the most part, they are offering a diluted, watered down product. It's a double-edge sword and vicious merry-go-round. They need/want more races, more race dates, and the more you offer, the lower the quality of the product.
