Not much competition for KS2 since Casey and Drew departed

Many are shipping Maine sire stakes horses to the NW 1, NW 2, or NW3 classes at the Ridge. Totters and pacers are going. With 4 days of racing there, cheaper classes are a go, and the Fields are not that tough this time of the year, and the purses are fantastic.  Racing for $12,500 to $17,500. We got some nice checks last week.

Without horse's from Maine Plainridge would have a lot of short fields

Many have shipped, but you need horses that can be competitive. Most will be in the cheap TM races.

How can the poor horseman survive with such small purses. How can an owner even have a prayer of ever making a dime?
