She was scratched because she was very off due to a hot nail after she had a shoe re set yesterday.

Meaning it could of happened earlier like before the 1st race closed, was the timing of the scratch legit?

He (Tim Hortons) knew the specifics beyond the one word reason (Lame) the track gave for the scratch, thought he knew the timing as well.

Long vacation from this after the t-bred BC next Fri and Sat, then Hong Kong next year.

  Thoroughbreds often get shod the day of the race its considered a legal prerace. Dont know why harness would be different...

It's OK if you are just replacing or changing shoes but trimming the day before is plain stupid. It usually takes at least 72 hours for the minor discomfort from the trim to subside. Compare it to when you cut your fingernail a little too short.
