I don't have the answer

I don't think a passing lane would help

The racing is a terrible product

Indian file and impossible to close from further back than 2nd?   3rd? at best

unsustainable
It was a joke

It was a joke

They tell you on the broadcast that Burke and all his drivers huddle before the race to game plan

Gingras secures the lead in the elimination and the race is then completely over as he slams on the breaks to make sure stablemate wrenn can easily cross over and clear.

In the final. The only horse with a chance decides not to race. Trainer of that horse happens to be wrenns uncle and is on the track jumping up and down high fiving and hugging wrenn seconds after the race is over.

Joke is correct. Worst gambling product you can find

Most of the 20 races were awful. How many $3.00 win prices can someone take? And 20 races on a Thursday afternoon? Awful product.

they weren’t beating that horse today no matter what so I’m not sure what you’re all on about

these horses race against each other the rest of the year on bigger tracks with passing lanes. that’s what makes the Jug the Jug.

last year a horse popped the pocket and won
2 years ago a horse got parked to a 25.4 quarter which set up for a great finish

they can’t be blockbusters every year

These drivers are too friendly with each other. You can't let any top horse walk to the half in 56.3

Final was over when they drew.  I went on about my day after that.

You must be to much of a cretin to understand tradition.

For those of us who remember Ron Wrenn passing out syringes at nfld to the trainers he was driving for dont really consider him very talented.

Final was over when they drew.  I went on about my day after that.

Final was over after the elims

the elim  winners get post #1 and #2-and that chalks out The Final

to make The Final more interesting-they could have a completely open draw-with all horses getting a shot at posts #1-8

but I am sure the owners wouldn't like that-no rewards for winning your elim

the elims would be more interesting also since there would be no real reason to win

One reply for all the comments, being trackside, decent crowd, but nothing like the glory days. I never recall the attendance being announced. Melanie Wrenn trains Odds on Outlier..Peter is her husband, Ronnie Wrenn Jr, his nephew. On jug day most favorites do win so payouts are low. Louprint is by far the best 3 year old in the country, 9 out of 9 for the year. The two horses that could have given him a battle raced against each other in race 4 in the OBC Swingtown and Rick Wink.. The final was not an exciting race. Once Louprint walked to a 56 and change half, the race was over. He won both his races for fun and easily could have gone a second faster if necessary. They will never put a passing lane in, nor should they. The original poster, Mike had said earlier this year how stacked the 3 year old crop is this year. There are certainly some nice horses, but none are on Louprint's level.

I agree drivers are much to friendly these days, but going for half a million dollars changes that. Nobody wanted to be the sacrificial lamb and go first up against by far the best horse. In my opinion almost the entire field was lackluster. Price Hal Hanover didn't impress me at all. On paper he was Louprint's only competition and he couldn't even get out of his division.

Celebrating your nephew is fine. But maybe in private?
Running onto the track after no-trying to win and celebrating the winning driver like you just won the AL central? It goes far far overlooked and even dismissed but there is gambling taking place. Just an observation from afar....
