Bad one at the Ocean...
« on: August 24, 2025, 07:55:28 PM »
Two drivers being flown.  Trae Porter and Rick Still, hope both and the horses involved are ok.  Announcer is fucking oblivious to what's going on.  Was talking about the horse on the lead possibly setting a record.  Didn't realize shit until at least a full minute or even more after it happened.  What a clueless moron.

Just posted about it.  Announcer should hand in his resignation after this one!  He was too focused on the time and horse on the lead while I was watching several horses go down and drivers being launched from the bike.  He didn't say anything or notice it until minutes after race ended.   All while people and EMS are running to help!  What a fucking MORON

Couldn’t agree more, BIRD. I THINK this guy is from Canada. How he could miss that accident is unforgivable

That was a very nasty accident.  Prayers for all involved. Rick landed right on his neck... and yes the race caller is a dipshit.

that announcer is legendary Hall Of Famer Frank Salive

like most people--he was staring at the clock instead of the race

he missed it

Yeh after the race he said nothing for over 3 minutes, that was really bad, with your peeps in binoculars he didn't see it at all live I would imagine.

Frank Salive for real ?? The Velvet Fog has to be over 80 now.... seems he retired decades ago from WEG. Aside from that I pray for all involved.
Come with me to the "Darkside",its a matter of life or death!!

the fact that they are continuing the card is good news

I hope there are no serious injuries

when Hal Belote had his accident-they canceled the rest of the card

I cannot believe that he still calls races.. I didnt recognize his voice right away. Trigger is probably right, he was staring through his binoculars. I cannot blame him for the silence afterwards.. I mean what is he supposed to say. Im sure some of us old timers have seen accidents live and horses put down on the track bringing out the curtain. It is not a pleasant sight to see.

Looks like Still might be serious.  Porter also.  Foster was also involved and off his drives.  Looked really bad for Still.  He landed on his neck and head and was laying motionless.  Hopefully they will all be okay.
