Pocono not racing this Sunday

My trainer told me they didn’t have enough entries.
That sounds strange.

Only 9 races on Saturday. The purses are better than Harrahs Phil & they have horses.

Looks like similar situation at Mohawk:

Woodbine Mohawk Park’s Race Office would like to inform all trainers that the entry box for this Monday’s card (Aug. 25) will remain open until Thursday morning (Aug, 21) at 10:30 a.m.

The entry box remains open due to a short number of entries.

Lake Placid Stakes 400K (G2) has 6 entries
Personal Ensign Stakes 500K (G1) has 7 entries
H. Allen Jerkens Memorial Stakes 500K (G1) has 8 entries
Resorts World Casino Ballerina Stakes 500K (G1) has 9 entries
Forego Stakes 500K (G1) has 11 entries
DraftKings Travers Stakes 1.25 million (G1) has 5 entries
It is not harness racing....but this is one of the premier racetracks in the world. Half of the stakes races have short fields.
