Joe Bongiorno Driving in 11 Races at Scioto This Week ?
« on: August 07, 2025, 09:59:18 PM »
Why would Joe drive in all those races (08/09/25) out there? No big races on the card. I don't even think any of the horses are his. Think he is on vacation, just passing thru, or shopping for horses and/or owners?

I believe Irwin trains the Bongiorno horses in Ohio. It looks like Joe has many live drives. Is he testing Ohio? I'm surprised to see him there. Bongiorno has driven less at Yonkers this year & that makes this puzzling.

Hos dope may work good in ohio. As far as driving goes he will be not in the top 5. Maybe burke can help out his future brother in law.

All of Scioto's top regulars.. ie.. Page, Noble, Brett Miller, Tyler and Trevor Smith, Austin and Luke Hanners,Kauffman, etc are at Northfield for a great card of multiple sires stakes and a handful of grand circuit races including the Milstein for 3 year olds that goes for 300,000. So kind of a driver shortage except for scrubs and fair drivers at Scioto that night.

He did very well when he drove full time in Ohio several years ago.
