conflict of interest
« on: August 06, 2025, 08:07:28 PM »
So Jeff Gural owned the Hambo winner. Should he be allowed to race at a track he owns?? Say, for instance, there's an inquiry on his horse in the Hambo. Im not sure the judges could make a unbiased decision being that he pays their salary.

Doesn't the state of NJ pay their salaries?

Judges work for the state and are employees of the NJRC. Race Sec works for the track. This is all racing 101.

Here layeth the outer edges of the twilight zone of stupid, but I don't disagree.

At least most of the Canadians talk about racing consistently, they're even fed up.

There is some balance between racing, gossip, stupidity, hatred / defense.

Broke ass gamblers and poor ass disenfranchised horsemen.  Get over it.

Man up lol - 3 Burke threads running simultaneously   ngc3!

I'm bumping the Dan Patch thread!   ;D

Most of you are missing the point. He admitted on live aTV that the track was set up to Sarah Svanstedts liking. Add to that, that is horse won the Hambletonian with his shoes being pulled for that race. If that's not cheating, then what is.

Do you realize that “making the track to Sarah’s liking” applies to every other trainer with a horse in the race? Why is pulling shoes illegal? You’re obviously not a horseman, groom or owner. Nobody connected to the sport would make such a stupid comment!

Will Gurals horse be racing next year+ or will he be "injured" at end of season?
It's a great game, if you have the means to play

It doesn't hold weight when people are only doing something out of spite, after being kicked out & having nowhere to go.

At least 6 horses went without shoes that day.
Did they all win?

According to several Hall of Fame Trainers who raced previous Saturday in Hambo elims, track was perfect.
So, why change surface.
Maybe they should have made an announcement before Sat races.
Ladies and Gentlemen due to extreme pressure from Sarah Svanstedt, we are adjusting the track surface due to the fact that they are pulling the shoes on seven of their horses.
