Hambletonian Finalist with a recent positive

Greenma and his trainer made the USTA fine list this week due to a post-race positive. I’m surprised they would be allowed to participate in the Hambo.

I don't think a recent positive matters. There must have been others over the years.

It's a legal medication but horses must be withdrawn on race day.  Obviously the horse wasn't fully withdrawn. Since this occured in May and there's no trainer suspension he's eligible.
