Tioga Downs
« on: July 26, 2025, 11:44:05 PM »
Outside of a $2.00 bettor, why does anyone bet on Tioga races? As a sample of tonight’s pools check these out…4th race Exacta pool $967, Trifecta pool $759 and Superfecta pool $249. More important is how do these tracks like Tioga, stay open? I know everyone will say the casinos support these tracks. However the owners of these places will dump racing in a blink of an eye if decoupling comes to pass. I bet one Texas Hold ‘Em table takes in more money in an hour than what these tracks contribute in one night. The same can be said for Vernon, Batavia, Buffalo etc. Outside of a few harness tracks like the Meadowlands and Northfield, the betting public has lost interest.

I agree with all of it, but they don't even deserve a $2 bettor. Let it die an embarrassing death!

Casinos in NY are NOT coupled now. So, for Tioga….its all about the horseman that runs the show. Once he’s done…..don’t know.

You can play these low handle tracks. Example Madden Oaks (1:9) starts a DD that pays $126.50.
Keep hate’n haters.

they allowed place wagering which was shocking

surprisingly only $9200 on Madden to place-and they had reason to sweat for a moment

Tracks still get casino welfare.  You think MGM would run one race card a year at Yonkers if they weren't forced to?
