He’s always been a scumbag shady POS. He and Surick are actually cut from the same cloth.  He’s the guy that try’s so hard to be “cool” but is a total tool bag. I only spoke to him once at a sale but you can tell he has friends because he has money. Without it he is zero.

I think he & Surick shared some great times together, every time I see him in Florida- he always gave those vibes.
I wasn't the only one who noticed too, I think he was Suricks "cool uncle" kind of scenario, imo
It's a great game, if you have the means to play

It doesn't hold weight when people are only doing something out of spite, after being kicked out & having nowhere to go.

Surick racing from jail
Oaks raced from jail

Just another jerk off claiming ignorance after being caught, as the cocksucker knew he was hiding ownership as well as colluding with a felon. Once again, as I have posted here thousands of times, when the USTA is judge and jury, IT PAYS TO CHEAT. Do you think for one second Cherry is going to lose sleep over being fined 35K? It will be business as usual until the USTA starts handing out fines with six digits and or lifetime suspensions.

Agree.  And for him say he will disperse, and everything he’s done for this sport is laughable.  That dousche doesn’t do anything for anyone unless he’s benefiting.   Acting like he is doing harness racing a favor?  Typical arrogant d-bag.  Take your medicine or sell out. No one will lose sleep over you being gone.

https://paulickreport.com/features/keeping-pace/keeping-pace-cherry-picking-punishment-in-harness-racing

From this article, I find it very surprising that of all people, Andrew Cohen, says, "It’s fair to say that harness racing needs Cherry more than Cherry needs harness racing..." Really? I absolutely disagree. No one person is bigger than this sport or industry. It may appear so on paper, or in the mind of fear, concern, defensiveness, etc. And that is (just one reason) why this sport and industry is where it is today. That aside, owner aspect, did harness racing need David Brooks more than Brooks needed harness racing? Was Brooks bigger than the sport/industry? What about today, and Howard Taylor? Were either too big too fail? The answer is no. Absolutely not. This business, this sport, the bloodstock marketplace, everything, continued without David Brooks, and it will continue without Howard Taylor, if it comes to that...and the same applies to Eric Cherry.

I am all for owner accountability, governance, and punishment. It's very long overdue. However, personally, I don't feel the USTA is the right organization for the job, they have proven to be silent for far too long, and they have also been inept in my opinion. There is screaming conflicts of interest, and they already have caused many people to question their capability and their integrity. It's a separate issue from Eric Cherry, but the optics are not good for the USTA and now it's progressed to beyond optics. Yes, I am glad they have taken action, and I hope racing commissions, states, and track owners, also step up and take action. Eric Cherry should be fined, perhaps suspended, perhaps more. But in the end, the USTA is losing credibility and respect from their members.
