I agree. Trainers are blowing the brains out of horses and are getting away with it. Every once in a while they will make an example out of someone but you are fucking nuts if you think these horses are racing clean.

This type of cheating has been going on for years. After Tioga downs (where harness racing exists today) closed in mid 70’s, a track on Long Island, NY opened called Parr Meadows in Yapank. It was packed. I think they raced 7-8 months there. I can’t remember if they planned their QHorse meets when Roosevelt Raceway was closed and Yonkers was open? They were supposed to have state of the art testing, which may or may have happened. As popularity for Quarter Horse racing waned, expenses built up, and samples were never sent out. This went on for few racing meets. Trainers caught on and rampant cheating went on. I’m sure it goes on today in more sophisticated ways.

a great idea--but the question is....who will be paying for this?

agree no one in harness racing(North America) is sending samples to Hong Kong--too expensive

Need out of competition testing and who is fighting it, Faraldough

Can we get off the soapbox of "who is paying for this?".   We can't afford not to act.

We need to start demanding that Out of Competition testing is implemented by the State Regularity bodies.  Again here in OHIO it needs to have the scope of reaching any horse that is actively racing regardless of location (racetrack, training center, fair grounds, private property). Upon notification you have (x) amount of time to produce the animal.

And then----The punishment must be swift and not impeded through an appeals process. This is a complete joke. There should be a structured penalty phase, where everyone knows the punishment.  Fines are attributed to the trainers, and owners separately.  For example if the fine is $250.00,  it is 250.00 for each owner entity.   The BS needs to have a heavy hand over it.  Those with some ethics to them are paralyzed to say anything.   Take matters into your own hands and have some teeth to enforcement.
