Oak Grove Stakes Finals Today, 07/14/25
« on: July 14, 2025, 09:07:18 AM »
I think the only way you can overcome the small pools is narrowing down the selections per race.  I think it came kind of naturally as there were some standouts.

The weather forecast was rain, I studied and tried to find horses I felt would do well on all - fast / good / sloppy, maybe some exceptions.

12 / 13 races are stakes.

I'm going with just the eight (8) $100k finals races.

Remember they're in Central time (CST) there, these times I've given are for EST.  Good Luck!

(322) 4 -  2 Big Shoes 5/2

(400) 6 - 1 Avenzee 8-1

(438) 8 - 3 Kngtstlkrs Pistol 6-1

(457) 9 - 6 Clouseau 5/2

(516) 10 - 7 Odds on Chesapeake 6/5 & 4 Reckless Abandon 4-1 (This order)

(535) 11 - 1 Caviart Daisy 7/5

(554) 12 - 3 Special Select 8-1

(613) 13 - 1 Zephyr Kemp 4-1 & 7 Endurance 5/2 & 8 San Patricio 3-1 (These in any order)

Good Luck Trigger, FYI looks like rain will hold off until after the races.

Also, small Pick 5 Carryover ($1,962) starts in 4th race, with a Guarantee of 10k.

1st - 3 Vugoo 4,1,5
2nd - 6 Kissinbythebeache s 2,3,5

Race 8.

Dexter chooses off the 3 (5/1 shot w/Andy Miller) for the 7 and wins @ 20/1.

7    Odds On Chesapeake    $5,340    $6,099    ---

                             Total       $9,292    $8,003

Bridge jumpers, please jump.

I didn't learn my lesson last week.

I commend those that showed to race that were taken for granted.

Lesson leaned.

Exacta only paid $29. Someone thought the seven would run out.

the replay isn't up yet and I didn't see the race

but most likely it lined up 4/5 or 5/4 and the gate punchers pounded the exacta down to $29

Half the field left, I believe, 4, 5, 6, 7, but it wasn't a clear lineup.

i just watched the replay

it was clear who blasted--the #4 and #5--and the favorite lagged

the bets came in after they saw this after the race started
