Last night at The Meadowlands
« on: July 13, 2025, 10:21:43 AM »
Well, the big night of racing is done and it was fun to go and see the action live. I bet half of the races and didn't cash a ticket. LOL! My yearly "summer bankroll" of $5000 was up to $6788 thank to some early success at The Spa. But last night's $400 dip made me realize something. I'm not to good at betting the trotters. LOL! When I bet the chalk, they didn't fire. When I bet some big prices, they never made a move. LOL! The crowd was pretty big and there were lots of kids running around. Future fans? Who really knows? Was nice to see. Traffic in the NY/NJ area is scary. We are heading back to Maine for a couple of days before we head to the Spa for next weekend. We are staying with old friends in Ballston Spa NY and avoiding those crazy hotel rates this time. So after lunch, it's off for the 7 hour drive home. Nice travel day. Good luck to everyone placing your bets today!

That's what keeps me working hard all year to take the summers off, travel all around to watch our horses race. You got to see a great card live, would've been great.

Got a 2 yr old colt going tomorrow for the first time in a stake race, can't see it getting much more than 3rd tops.
He's been the last one to start a race this year, was a little behind back in Jan/Feb.

Has a "gets better with age" breeding so I'd like him to get 6-7 starts this year and end on a good note, get him ready for 3y.o year.

Lucky you, keep up the travel updates, always appreciated
It's a great game, if you have the means to play

It doesn't hold weight when people are only doing something out of spite, after being kicked out & having nowhere to go.

  • Trigger: Not as Big as Ron Burke...showing us, he's the Don of the Sulky, and better racing through chemistry is the ONLY way to go.  Records yr. $28.52mil, Career $374mil, 16,343 wins!  tmbz1
