Darned right… 2 heats separates the horses and the trainers.  More difficult to juice one for 2  heats and I think it is harder to get yogurt into D barn than it was several years back.

To the actual partying aspect . The M[1] doesn't have like 30,000 people [estimate, used to be more]
with probably at least 2/3 of them there 'SOLELY' to party.

from a wagering standpoint-i don't see any horses that will be less than even money all night except maybe Twin B Joe Fresh-a race where Sylvia could repeat the upset

almost unheard of for M1 Pace night if it happens

Heading back from a week seeing family and friends in Florida, and will be at the Meadowlands on Saturday. It's been over 30 years since I've been there. So i'm excited for those big races. Then off to the "Spa" for 4 days of fun!

I like big parties. I also enjoy great racing. Reserved a table at  “Pink”. Meeting some good friends spending the night together.  We wil be cheering on Ken Hanover and Polie Mallar. Him and I both worked for Mr. Haughton. Ken coming in on a 5 race win on 4 different tracks while setting the “ Worild record on a half mile track.
So I did some quick figuring about tonight. Tonight we have 134 horse and drives going to post that have amassed approximately 6.9 million in purse money this year. When the night is over they will have a combined 9.2 million in purse money this year only.  WOW. Have a great time everyone

Back in the day when I was a kid in the eighties and nineties there was always easily 40 to 45 thousand people there. 30,000 is probably about right nowadays, but no track can replicate that party. You are absolutely correct, I have many friends and family that go just on Jug day strictly for the party, the racing is secondary. I have been very critical of the Meadowlands with all the amateur races, lame cards and overall racing product, but Saturday is a great card.

New Meadowlands is a nice racetrack. I attend live races often. Unfortunately I don’t go on nights with great cards like Saturday. Old Big M was great, however, new track is built for the times of today, and with smaller seating area inside and out, it’s really not enjoyable.

The last attendance I heard announced at The Jug was 42,000. That was a year or two ago.  It was 55,000 the first time I attended.

It's a big crowd and a fun time. I go every year and ain't no way they've had 42,000 for the last decade or so. 30k tops and that's counting the vendors.

They can ANNOUNCE a certain attendance that they want, and they always have, but it has dropped
dramatically thru the years. Low 40,000's is what I believe to the top attendance. I still think, judging
from different camera angles on the broadcast, it reaches 30,000 still. It also shows what a little double
talking weasel that Settlemoir is. To me if you are such a big part of Delaware's Jug Week, then it's
blaspheme to support a campaign contradicting their superiority.  11.wp
