Think Dex got spoiled a bit last year when driving some overpowering horses.  Feels like he has been handing out a lot of first over trips in big races.  Maryland isn’t tight enough, or maybe good enough to overwhelm this field.

The 3 yo colts are stacked.  Think EL, Super Chapter and Go Dog Go are the best but could see any of those three or Onajetplane, Maryland, Mr Walner Fashion, Meshugga, Monserate, Maximus Mearas, Mountcastle, etc picking up major pieces.

I personally interpret Maryland "not maturing" as being forced to mature too early. He was bionic last year. He is an absolute specimen, too, and if I had mares to breed to him next year, I would.

But from a pure 3yo racing standpoint, I look forward to the rest of the year. It doesn't feel like a one-horse domination year, which is always fun.

I was surprised they just had to get in one last start with him last year.  He was the unbelievable last year.  And Margie was probably the wrong word, progress is more fitting.

Isn't tight enough in my opinion,by design. Big picture is the Hambo

Emoticon Legacy's dam was a great great race mare. She had charisma and composure and always knew where she was and what she had to do.

Mr. Walner Fashion has had a couple of sharp races; but also a scratch, and now has not raced since June 13 or so.  He leaves well, can sit, follow a helmet and has a strong closing kick.  We will know more about all of them after the Dancer on the 12th.  Should be at least 2 divisions.
